What is a Micro SIM Card?
SIM Cards come in several sizes but Digital Matter devices mainly use 3FF (Micro) and 4FF (Nano) when it comes to physical form factors. Please read our Knowledge Base articles to help make your decision on network operators and roaming SIM providers.
How Are They Installed?
Step 1. The SIM card holder starts off locked shut. A small, unlocked padlock icon etched into the metal indicates that it needs to be slid to the left in order to be opened. The easiest way to achieve this is by applying slight pressure with an index finger and moving it to the left.
Step 2. Once unlocked, the holder now needs to be opened. With a hinge on the left, the easiest way is to pull it up on the right. A fingernail or a small tool will help leverage the holder open.
Step 3. Using the small icon of the SIM card with its notched corner as a guide, place the SIM card with its golden chip face down in the holder.
Step 4. Fold the cover down over the card, ensuring that the card itself is still flush with the holder.
Step 5. Ready again to lock the SIM card holder, press the holder down and slide it to the right. A successful placement will leave the card parallel with the PCB, with almost none of the card visible to the right.
