CSV Export SIM Card FAQS What size SIM does each device take? Do I need special M2M Sim cards? Do The SIM Cards Need To Support Voice and SMS? Do I need a Dedicated APN? Do I need a SIM card with a static IP address? Next Steps

A SIM card is a small, portable memory chip that connects devices to a mobile network. One of the key identifiers printed on most SIM cards is the ICCID (Integrated Circuit Card Identification Number), a unique 18-22 digit number usually found on the back of the card. No two SIM cards share the same ICCID, making it a globally unique serial number that serves as a one-of-a-kind identifier for the SIM itself.

SIM management systems, such as Jasper, allow users to search for and manage SIM cards using their ICCID. It's important to note that the ICCID is different from the MSISDN (Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number), which is the phone number associated with the SIM card for sending SMS or making calls. The MSISDN is not visible in our systems, while the ICCID is used for tracking and identifying the physical SIM card.

The ICCID can be found in two locations in Device Manager:

1.Device View

From the Device Grid, click on the hyperlink for the device:

On the Device View page the SIM ICCID is shown:

CSV Export

Simply select the devices you wish to export and click the 'CSV Export' button and the details will be downloaded into a .csv file, opening in excel spreadsheets.

This is currently the best way to search Device Manager by a particular ICCID - download the CSV and search this file.

Do I need special M2M Sim cards?

No, any SIM card will work as long as it can get a data connection on the network.

Do The SIM Cards Need To Support Voice and SMS?

The SIM card does not need to support voice calls and technically does not need to support SMS either. We recommend that the SIM supports SMS in case you need to send a text message to the device to get it on air, but it is not required.

Do I need a Dedicated APN?

No, the SIM cards can use a public APN, or a private APN.

Do I need a SIM card with a static IP address?

No, the SIM card can use a dynamic IP address.
