The SensorData and SensorNode support I2C peripherals, such as Digital Matter Temperature Probes, and Temperature/Humidity Sensors

The SensorData and SensorNode expose 4 screw terminals for I2C, these are marked on the board.

  • 3.3V: provides power to the sensor at 3.3V
  • SDA: I2C data line.
  • SCL: I2C clock line.
  • GND: ground connection to the sensor.

Below are the pin outs for the wiring of Digital Matter sensors.

DM Temperature/Humidity Sensor

  • Red = Positive - connect to 3.3V
  • Brown = Clock - connect to SCL
  • Green = Data - connect to SDA
  • Black = Ground - connect to GND
  • Purple = Not used
  • Orange = Not used

DM Temperature Probe

  • Red = Positive - connect to 3.3V
  • Brown = Clock - connect to SCL
  • Orange = Data - connect to SDA
  • Black = Ground - connect to GND

New DM Temp Sensor:

In 2018 we introduced a new temperature sensor that allows you to set the address to Address 1 or Address 2:

  • Address 1 (DM Temp Sensor 2): Green - connect to 3.3V
  • Address 2 (DM Temp Sensor 1): Green - connect to ground
  • The rest of the wiring stays the same
