What is LightMetrics? How Can I Get Started? Adding Cameras Updating Your Existing Assets Next Steps

What is LightMetrics?

LightMetrics is an AI Dashcam platform which supplies camera hardware, firmware and a software system for partners. Telematics Guru has an integration with Lightmetrics such that you can view and interact with these cameras after performing the setup yourself.

How Can I Get Started?

  1. Ensure that you have the following permissions in Telematics Guru:
Feature Category Permission Name
Feature Manager Asset Manage
Feature Manager Camera Media Manage
Feature View Camera Media View
Partner Manager Partner Integration Manage
Partner Manager Organisation View
Partner Manager Organisation Manage

  1.  Contact Lightmetrics support and request API credentials (this should take the form of a lowercase partner name and a long, randomized password that looks like an API Key)

  2. Ensure that both your Home Organisation and the target customer organisation has the following functionality:

    1. Camera Integration

  3. While viewing any org, navigate to Admin → Organisation Management → Partner Integrations

  1.  Click on “Create” in the top right-hand corner

  1. From Integration Type choose “Lightmetrics Auth”

  2. Within Display Name choose a memorable name for your Integration.

  3. Under Lightmetrics E-mail type in the username from Lightmetrics (i.e."mypartnername") *this is not an e-mail format, despite the field name.

  4. Under LightMetrics Password enter the long API-Key-looking password from Lightmetrics

  5. Under LightMetrics API URL enter https://api.lightmetrics.co/

  6. Click Save

  1. Back on the Partner Integrations screen, click the Edit button (next to the delete button) to re-open the Edit Partner Integration popup.

  2. You will now see a Subscribe to Webhooks button. Upon clicking it you will receive a success message if your details have been entered correctly. *please note, if you are using Lightmetrics webhooks for EVENT_CREATED or DVR_UPLOADED then clicking this button will change them to point towards Telematics Guru.

  1. Navigate to Admin → Organisation Management → Organisation

  1. Find your organisation in the list and click the edit button

  1. Under the tab Camera Fleet enter in the following details:

    1. Partner Integration - choose the one you just entered for Display Name on the Edit Partner Integration popup.

    2. Camera Fleet Name - choose an appropriate name to use within TG menus.

    3. Camera Fleet Id - Copy the ‘Account ID’ from your Lightmetrics master portal that represents the customer fleet you want to pair with this organisation. This prevents data from other Lightmetrics accounts you control from finding its way into this TG organisation. This field is case-sensitive.

  2. Click Test Camera Fleet. A green bar with a success notification will appear if the combination of your Camera Fleet Id and Integration credentials match a fleet in Lightmetrics.

  1. Click Save. You are now ready to add cameras.

Adding Cameras

Using the Import Function (Bulk)

  1. While within the organisation for which you set up your Camera Fleet navigate to Assets → Manage Cameras.

  2. Click Import.

  3. A list of cameras with checkboxes should now appear. The Camera Status column describes if the camera is “new” (does not yet exist in TG) or “existing” (already present in TG). The Asset column contains a dropdown with a list of eligible TG assets for you to link with the camera. Check the box of each new camera that you would like to import, choose an asset to link from the Asset dropdown and click Confirm Import.

Using IMEI (Backup method)

  1. Go to Assets → Manage Cameras and click Add Camera

  2.  Provide a camera name and then enter the IMEI of the camera as the Serial Number.

  3.  Click Create

  4. Your next step is to link your camera to an existing asset.

Updating Your Existing Assets

  1.  Navigate to Assets → Manage Cameras and find your camera in the grid and click on its name (underlined in blue) to edit. The following popup should appear.

  2.  Select the existing asset that you want to link with the camera by using the dropdown menu under Asset to Link and then click Save.

  3. Camera AI events should now begin flowing through against this asset, while telemetry from the existing device should appear in trip history as normal.

Next Steps

Now that you have integrated your cameras, consider creating some Camera Alerts so that your users will be proactively alerted to AI-generated events.
