All of our hard-wired devices come with a rechargeable Lithium Ion Phosphate (LiPo) battery installed as standard. Designed to smooth fluctuations in external power availability and ensure that the device can continue to report for a short period after disconnection from power, this battery automatically recharges when external power is available. When power is not available, the energy in the battery is automatically consumed to support the device. Partners that have a need to manage this can map this behaviour to a digital input as a trigger for uploading. This can be useful when conducting validation tests to prove that the device does not have an adverse impact on a connected asset's battery.
